HOW TO THROW & CARE FOR YOUR CAST NET

STEP 1:

Slide the neoprene wrist harness over your hand to secure the cast net. With your free hand, begin to gather the throw line into a loose coil.

STEP 2:

Hold the net to your side, resting the weights on the ground. Grab the net with your throwing hand at about waist height. Be sure the net hangs freely when lifted from the ground (inspect for any braille lines or weights that may be entangled).

STEP 3:

Grasp the lead line with your free hand at a position straight down from the end of your thumb and place it between your thumb and forefinger.

STEP 4:

With your free hand, grasp the lead line about one arm's length from your other hand. This will hold the net one-quarter open as shown.

STEP 5:

Rotate your torso backward to load the weight in preparation for your toss. Then, immediately rotate in the opposite direction, releasing the net at a slight upward angle toward the sky in the direction of your targeted bait fish.

STEP 6:

The net should hit the water in a circular pattern. Let the net sink to the depth of your bait, then quickly pull on the throw line to close the net. Grasp the horn and release the throw line to empty the net into your bait shack.

Soak:

Prior to using your net, soak it overnight in a solution of approximately two gallons of hot tap water and one cup of fabric softener. This will relax the netting, making it more pliable and easier to throw.

Inspect:

Inspect your net before every use, mending any cuts or tears. Repairing any damage immediately will help extend the lifespan of your cast net.

Rinse:

After each use, rinse your net with fresh water and hang it with the lead line resting on the ground to dry. Allowing the lead line to rest on the ground will prevent stretching or memory that could negatively impact the net's ability to open freely when thrown. Ensure net is completely dry before long-term storage to prolong the life of your net.

Store:

Store your cast net in the mesh bag provided to prevent mold and mildew. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat when possible.
